CT3 is pleased to introduce the inaugural activities for the Community Against Racist Education in Schools (CARES). CARES Month fosters conversations and community for those working to deconstruct racism in schools.
CARES Month activities are all free and open to the public, but registration is required. Please see the schedule of events below and register for any and all that you wish to join.

Learn from Leaders: The Story of Me, The Story of We, The Story of Change with Janssen Evelyn, Esq. | June 29 | 4 PM | Join Max Brooks as he talks with Janssen Evelyn, Esq about his experience as an immigrant child in the American education system. Learn how his experiences shaped his path in education and government. |
Coffee & Conversation with School Counselors | June 30 | 2 PM | Join Tim Valenti as he speaks with high school guidance counselors about best practices to increase graduation rates. They will share insight on the critical role they play in supporting scholars to and through graduation. |
Learn from Leaders: Dr. Baron Davis | July 6 | 1 PM | Join Dr. Baron Davis, Superintendent of South Carolina’s Richland School District Two, in a conversation about building equity for all students. |
Learn from Leaders: Elaine Buxton | July 12 | 1 PM | Join CT3 Associate Meaghan Loftus and Tulsa school leader Elaine Buxton as they discuss Elaine’s work to create equity in her school and district. |
Book Club: Stamped from the Beginning | July 15 | 3 PM | Join CT3 Managing Associate Dr. Eyka Stephens in a conversation grounded in the book “Stamped from the Beginning” by Dr. Ibram Kendi. This will be a time for active participation in discussing the text and its implications. While not required, participants are strongly encouraged to read the text ahead of this discussion. |
