Ishmael is a Brooklyn New York native who attended NYC public schools. A dedicated educator, he has shaped various school communities and cultures by serving and leading in a variety of roles. Ishmael has transformed school cultures by leveraging relationships as the foundation for student growth and teacher success. By utilizing the power of relationship building, Ishmael has built the capacity of teachers and leaders and improved the educational experiences of students, especially in traditionally underserved populations. Ishmael is passionate about coaching and developing leaders. This has led to the successful turnaround of several school cultures.
Ishmael holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Counseling and Psychology from John Jay College, a Master of Education in Special Education, and a Master’s in Business Administration from Grand Canyon University.
When he isn’t working, he spends his time volunteering for local CBO’s, playing music, playing basketball, and running a Juice & Smoothie Bar that he founded, Eden Juice & Smoothie Bar.
